Legende might even be the most accurate forgery in the Navitimer rep family.
The TD assured me it was a genuine ETA when I specifically asked him, having bought other watches from him I feel-Hope he is truthful from my experience with him so far, I also removed the (glass display) case back to get a better look at it and then found several images of genuine ETA 7750 movements from sellers on eBay that are highly rated . The Valjoux 7750 is by far the most common swiss made chronograph movement in production, with the ETA 2894-2 in second with a 37 Jewel movement. The ETA 2894-2 differs in that it uses a base 2892-2 with a chronograph module attached. The Valjoux 7750 is not one movement, it's three - as are all Valjoux / ETA movements. The movement is available in different grades with only the highest grade being built to tolerances designed to allow COSC certification - that's the movement that Breitling buys in ebauche form, and the further works it and decorates it.

In 2003 Breitling returned the Navitimer to its original tricompax (3-6-9) layout. The genuine is powered by a Valjoux 7753, while the rep uses a reconfigured Asian 7750. Because of this, the datewheel is lowered to make room for the extra gears needed to move the 30 minute totalizer to the 3:00 position. Then in 1984 Breitling signed with Valjoux contract regarding supply of Valjoux 7750 for introduced Chronomat (1984) and Old Navitimer (1989). Were the supplied movements made in 70s or Valjoux started again production of these movements in the 80s and then replaced with 25 jewel ETA Valjoux 7750 sometimes around early 90s?
