I'm looking to pull the trigger on the IWC Big Pilot 5009-01 ZF but wanted to ask the community if there have been any other contenders for the most accurate Big Pilot rep? I know that the 5009-01 ZF will need a strap change but I'm happy to do that, but I'm curious to look at alternative options. Just in time for Christmas 2021, I received my new Big Pilot from Lucy. The workmanship on this rep is just great, looks as solid as it feels (once you throw away the original strap).

IWC comes back with a new limited edition, honouring one of its favourite ambassadors (unfortunately not with us anymore), Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, pilot and writer, and its most famous character, ‘le Petit Prince’.I have 2 IWC reps (and a 7 day Portuguese gen) and they are great. I have a V7F Mark XX blue and a black Big Pilot. I don’t know of any flaws on the XX. The leather strap is not so good but you can replace that. The black Big Pilot’s hour hand is apparently a fraction of a mm shorter than gen. Otherwise everything else is spot on.
Specifications. Mechanical movement Calibre 51111. Pellaton automatic winding system. 7-day power reserve when fully wound. Power reserve display. Date display. Central hacking seconds.
